From the supplier: The Texas State Board of Insurance rejected automobile insurance companies’ request for a 14.6% rate increase, voted to retain the 1992 benchmark but increased limits for the flex band. Insurers, who previously were allowed a 25% maximum leeway in setting rates, may now place rates 30% above or below the benchmark level. Insurers and consumers support the flex band extension.
